Buenos Aires, November 14 (NA) – Independiente will host Rosario Central this Saturday in a match that will mark the conclusion of their participation in the Torneo Clausura, where the team showed progress from worse to better after one of the worst starts in its history.
The match, scheduled for 21:30, will take place at the Estadio Libertadores de América – Ricardo Enrique Bochini and can be watched on ESPN Premium. The appointed referee was Sebastián Zunino, who will be accompanied by Silvio Trucco in the VAR system.
After a disastrous start to the Torneo Clausura, in which they only accumulated six points in the first 12 rounds, Independiente managed to find good form in the final rounds, thrashing Platense and Atlético Tucumán 3-0, while last Monday they won 1-0 away to Deportivo Riestra.
Although they have no chance of advancing to the playoffs, Independiente will seek to end their participation in the Torneo Clausura with a victory that would allow them to keep a slim chance of qualifying for the 2026 Copa Sudamericana, although it is no longer in their hands.
Rosario Central, for its part, is the leader of Zone B with 31 points and also arrives at the final matchday undefeated. The “Canalla,” which has a historic figure of the Argentine national team like Ángel di María, has already secured qualification for the next edition of the Copa Libertadores and is the top candidate to win the title in this Torneo Clausura.
For this match, Rosario Central will not count on di María and other players who usually start, with the aim of giving them rest ahead of the playoffs.
